Three-digit era begins for fuel! Diesel price hike coming: Will exceed 100 TL per liter

Expectations of an increase in fuel prices have returned to the agenda. According to information provided by industry sources, a price hike of 4 lira and 62 kuruş per liter of diesel is expected to take effect starting September 17.

If the expected increase is reflected at the pump, diesel prices will exceed the 100 lira threshold in many cities. Diesel had recently seen a price hike of 6 lira and 59 kuruş. It is stated that the rise in oil prices is increasing the pressure on fuel prices.

Journalist Olcay Aydilek also stated in a post on his social media account, “September 17, 2026, fuel is entering a new phase. Two-digit prices will give way to three-digit ones. A 4.62 TL hike is expected for diesel at midnight tonight. The price of one liter of diesel will exceed 100 TL”.

CURRENT FUEL PRICES

Before the hike, the price of a liter of gasoline on the European side of Istanbul is 80.26 TL, diesel is 95.60 TL, and LPG is 34.99 TL.

On the Anatolian side of Istanbul, gasoline is sold at 80.12 TL, diesel at 95.46 TL, and LPG at 34.39 TL. In Ankara, the price per liter of gasoline is listed as 81.25 TL, diesel as 96.75 TL, and LPG as 35.09 TL.

In İzmir, the price per liter of gasoline is 81.52 TL, diesel is 97.02 TL, and LPG is 34.99 TL.

If the expected hike occurs, diesel prices will reach one of their highest levels of all time.
