THY notifies KAP of major agreement
THY has announced that it is in negotiations with Airbus for the purchase of 355 aircraft to be delivered between 2026 and 2036.
In a statement made by the company to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), it was stated: "In line with the growth targets set out within the framework of our partnership's 2023-2033 Strategic Plan, we have been in discussions with aircraft and engine manufacturers for some time. In this context, negotiations are underway with Airbus for the purchase of a total of 355 aircraft, 240 of which are firm and 115 of which are options, to be delivered between 2026 and 2036. Once board approval is obtained regarding the purchase, the necessary notification will be shared with the public."
AIRBUS: AGREEMENT IN PRINCIPLE REACHED
On the other hand, an Airbus spokesperson announced that Airbus and THY have reached an agreement in principle for a "large-scale commercial aircraft order." According to a Reuters report, the spokesperson stated that the agreement is currently being finalized and will be announced "in the coming days."
