Treasury borrows 71.1 billion lira in two auctions!

The Ministry of Treasury and Finance borrowed a total of 71.1 billion lira through two government bond auctions held today. In the first auction, a CPI-indexed bond was reissued, while a fixed-coupon bond was reissued in the second. Interest rates were another notable detail in the auctions, which were conducted with high demand from both the public sector and market makers.

Treasury borrows 71.1 billion lira in two auctions!

The Ministry of Treasury and Finance borrowed a total of 71 billion 119.4 million lira in two government bond auctions held today.

In the first auction, a 3-year (1001-day) CPI-indexed government bond with a 1.5 percent real coupon payment every 6 months was reissued. The real simple interest rate in the auction was determined at 5.12 percent, and the real compound interest rate at 5.18 percent. While the nominal bid was 14 billion 209 million lira, the nominal sale was 5 billion 755 million lira, and the net sale was 5 billion 910.3 million lira. The entire 7 billion 525 million lira bid from the public sector was met, while 7 billion 952.2 million lira in bids were received from market makers, with 4 billion lira sold to this segment.

In the second auction, a 5-year (1638-day) fixed-coupon government bond with a 15 percent coupon payment every 6 months was reissued. The simple interest rate in the auction was 29.89 percent, and the compound interest rate was 32.12 percent. While the nominal bid was 59 billion 873 million lira, the nominal sale was 33 billion 98 million lira, and the net sale was 33 billion 184.1 million lira. The entire 3 billion lira bid from the public sector was met, while 40 billion 456 million lira in bids were received from market makers, with 17 billion 500 million lira sold to this segment.

Thus, the Treasury borrowed a total of 71 billion 119.4 million lira across the two auctions.
