Treasury borrows again with two bond auctions!
The Ministry of Treasury and Finance borrowed 33 billion 818.4 million liras through two bond auctions held today.
In the first auction, a 2-year (630-day) fixed-coupon government bond with a 6.3 percent coupon payment every 6 months was reissued. The simple interest rate in the auction was 36.77 percent, while the compound interest rate was 40.14 percent.
In the auction, where nominal bids reached 45 billion 356 million liras, nominal sales amounted to 14 billion 606 million liras, and net sales totaled 10 billion 834.8 million liras.
In the auction, where the entire 2 billion 10 million lira bid from the public sector was met, 22 billion 944.5 million liras in bids were received from market makers, and 10 billion liras were sold to this segment.
The second auction involved the reissue of a 5-year (1743-day) CPI-indexed government bond with a 0 percent real coupon payment every 6 months. The real simple and real compound interest rates in the auction were 0.42 percent.
In the auction, where nominal bids reached 14 billion 465 million liras, nominal sales amounted to 5 billion 467 million liras, and net sales totaled 5 billion 973.6 million liras.
In the auction, where the entire 3 billion lira bid from the public sector was met, 2 billion 701 million liras in bids were received from market makers, and 2 billion liras were sold to this segment.
Thus, the Treasury borrowed 33 billion 818.4 million liras across the two auctions.
