Trucks sold to 82 countries in the first half of the year: Which country is the top buyer?
In the Turkish automotive industry, exports of "motor vehicles for the transport of goods," which includes light commercial vehicles, pickup trucks, and trucks, reached 2 billion 851 million 530 thousand dollars in the January-June period.
According to data from the Uludağ Automotive Industry Exporters' Association, Turkey's automotive industry exported 17 billion 701 million 161 thousand dollars worth of products in the first half of this year.
Exports of "motor vehicles for the transport of goods," which account for 16.1 percent of this figure, rose from 2 billion 406 million 215 thousand dollars to 2 billion 851 million 530 thousand dollars in the January-June period, an increase of 18.5 percent compared to the same period last year.
During the January-June period, light commercial vehicles, pickup trucks, and trucks were exported to 82 countries, as well as autonomous and free zones.
HIGHEST EXPORTS TO THE UNITED KINGDOM
The United Kingdom was the country to which the sector exported the most in this product group during the January-June period.
Exports to the United Kingdom, which amounted to 560 million 344 thousand dollars in "motor vehicles for the transport of goods" in the January-June period of last year, reached 758 million 212 thousand dollars in the same period this year, an increase of 35.3 percent.
Exports to the United Kingdom accounted for 26.58 percent of the total light commercial vehicle, pickup truck, and truck exports in the January-June period.
12 PERCENT INCREASE IN EXPORTS TO SLOVENIA
Exports to Slovenia, which ranked second, rose from 324 million 992 thousand dollars to 364 million 449 thousand dollars, an increase of 12 percent compared to the same period in 2023.
Exports by sector representatives to Italy, which ranked third, increased by 6.6 percent in the January-June period compared to the same period in 2023. Exports to this country, which were 325 million 717 thousand dollars in the January-June period last year, were recorded as 347 million 243 thousand dollars in the same period this year.
Light commercial vehicle and truck exports to France, which ranked fourth, fell by 11 percent from 322 million 931 thousand dollars to 286 million 994 thousand dollars.
Light commercial vehicle and truck exports to Belgium, which ranked fifth, rose from 181 million 152 thousand dollars to 272 million 334 thousand dollars in the first half of the year, an increase of 50.3 percent compared to the same period last year.
22 PERCENT DECREASE IN SPAIN
In the January-June period, compared to the same period last year, Germany ranked sixth with an increase of 60.75 percent and 106 million 851 thousand dollars, Spain ranked seventh with a decrease of 22.3 percent and 95 million 509 thousand dollars, the Netherlands ranked eighth with an increase of 329.5 percent and 81 million 267 thousand dollars, Australia ranked ninth with an increase of 89.12 percent and 76 million 507 thousand dollars, and Denmark ranked tenth with an increase of 27.66 percent and 65 million 276 thousand dollars in light commercial vehicle and truck exports.
According to this ranking, 8 of the top 10 countries in the export of motor vehicles for the transport of goods were European Union (EU) member states.
