Turkey exports 8 billion 548 million 883 thousand dollars to Spain
Turkey has achieved its highest January-November export figure of all time to Spain, reaching 8 billion 548 million 883 thousand dollars.
Turkey continues to break export records by standing out both in its region and the rest of the world with its market diversity, geopolitical position, strong infrastructure, and qualified workforce.
Turkey, which is a strategic commercial partner especially for Europe, also attracts the attention of countries looking to invest with its sustainable economic growth.
In this context, Turkey is also increasing its exports to Spain, one of the leading countries of its main market, the European Union (EU). Turkey and Spain, which have taken a step forward in bilateral trade, are evaluating opportunities in sectors where they have a say.
According to the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) data, Turkey's exports in the first 11 months of the year increased by 0.7 percent compared to the same period of 2022, reaching 232 billion 915 million 365 thousand dollars.
During this period, Turkey reached its highest January-November figure of all time by exporting 8 billion 548 million 883 thousand dollars to Spain. While exports to Spain increased by 2.5 percent on an annual basis, Spain's share in Turkey's total exports was 3.7 percent.
Spain thus became the 8th country to which the most exports were made. In the January-November period, the countries to which Turkey exported the most were Germany with 16 billion 991 million 242 thousand dollars, the USA with 11 billion 219 million 109 thousand dollars, the United Kingdom with 10 billion 405 million 930 thousand dollars, Italy with 10 billion 242 million 301 thousand dollars, France with 8 billion 863 million 843 thousand dollars, Iraq with 8 billion 741 million 718 thousand dollars, and the Russian Federation with 8 billion 640 million 330 thousand dollars.
Automotive industry realized the most exports
The automotive industry realized the most exports to Spain with 2 billion 195 million 262 thousand dollars.
The automotive industry was followed by ready-to-wear and apparel with 2 billion 153 million 912 thousand dollars, chemical substances and products with 1 billion 209 million 700 thousand dollars, electrical and electronics with 562 million 197 thousand dollars, and the steel sector with 397 million 265 thousand dollars.
The export increase of the automotive sector was recorded as 532 million 915 thousand dollars (32.1 percent). While the 520.6 percent increase in olive and olive oil exports drew attention, the sector's exports rose from 42.6 million dollars to 264.7 million dollars.
Istanbul's exports to Spain exceeded 3.5 billion dollars
When viewed on a provincial basis, companies from Istanbul realized the most exports to Spain in the first 11 months of the year. Exports from Istanbul to Spain amounted to 3 billion 629 million 99 thousand dollars.
During this period, exports of 1 billion 25 million 533 thousand dollars from Bursa, 951 million 250 thousand dollars from Kocaeli, 752 million 9 thousand dollars from Izmir, and 542 million 300 thousand dollars from Sakarya were realized.
According to TİM data, the export amounts (thousand dollars) realized to Spain in the January-November period and the increase rates compared to the same period of last year are as follows:
