Turkey has halted trade with Israel

In a report citing two Turkish officials, Bloomberg News stated that Turkey has halted all exports to and imports from Israel as of today.

WHAT HAPPENED?

In 2023, the trade volume between the two countries was recorded at 6.8 billion dollars, the vast majority of which consisted of Turkey's exports.

Following the intense backlash over trade documents with Israel revealed by journalist Metin Cihan last month, Turkey had imposed export restrictions on various product groups to Israel.

AKP President Erdoğan, during a press conference where he hosted German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, had stated, "We are no longer maintaining intense commercial relations with Israel; that business is over."
