Turkey is 10 years behind its target
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had announced in his party's 2011 manifesto that the target for per capita national income was 25 thousand dollars. However, looking at the data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), Turkey has not been able to make any progress in the last 10 years. Former Chief Economist Hakan Kara brought this situation to the agenda on his social media account.
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had announced in his party's 2011 manifesto that the target for per capita national income was 25 thousand dollars. The target, which is also found on the official AKP website, could not be realized according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK).
Former Chief Economist Hakan Kara evaluated the situation in a post on his X account, along with a graph he prepared using TÜİK data.
