Turkey's famous baklava brand is up for sale

The famous baklava brand known by the name Baklavacı Faruk Güllü has been put up for sale following approximately 10 years of administration by a trustee. The Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) announced that all of the company's assets will be transferred via tender.

Turkey's famous baklava brand is up for sale

Baklavacı Faruk Güllü, one of Turkey's long-established baklava brands, has been put up for sale within the scope of commercial and economic integrity. In a statement issued by the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF), it was announced that all assets belonging to the brand will be transferred via tender.

THE SCOPE OF THE SALE IS BROAD

The "Baklavacı Faruk Güllü Commercial and Economic Integrity" subject to the sale includes all of the brand's areas of operation. In this context, production facilities, store contracts, rights held by the company, and other assets have been included in the tender package.

Furthermore, the transfer of all movable and immovable properties belonging to the company, along with intellectual property elements, is planned.

According to information shared by the TMSF, the details regarding the sales process have been clarified. Accordingly:

Estimated value: 223 million TL

Tender date: April 8, 2026

Scope: All movable, immovable, and intellectual property rights

MANAGEMENT PROCESS CHANGED IN 2016

The Baklavacı Faruk Güllü brand was seized in 2016 as part of the FETÖ/PDY investigations. Within the framework of accusations of "providing financing to a terrorist organization," "membership in an organization," and "managing an organization," the company's management was transferred to the TMSF.

The company, which has been operating under the supervision of a trustee for approximately 10 years, is expected to be transferred back to the private sector and the liquidation process completed with the upcoming tender.
