Turkic States Competition Council to be established

The following information was provided in the statement made by the Competition Authority;

The Organization of Turkic States (OTS), whose foundations were laid with the Nakhchivan Agreement on October 3, 2009, has become a notable example of regional cooperation by drawing an increasingly upward trajectory with the concrete decisions, practices, and cooperation issues it has adopted in recent years. The OTS, whose full members consist of Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Azerbaijan, and which also includes Hungary, Turkmenistan, and the TRNC with observer status, is moving with confident steps toward becoming an effective and respected actor in the international arena. At the same time, the OTS has realized a thousand-year-old dream as a bridge of friendship and brotherhood connecting Central Asia, the Caucasus, Anatolia, and Central Europe, and has become an important platform for the cooperation and integration of the Turkic World.

JOINT EFFORTS AND COOPERATION

As part of this mission, the Turkic States Competition Council has reached the establishment phase with the initiative launched under the leadership of our Institution and the coordination of the OTS Secretariat to bring together the competition authorities of the member states. In this way, it is aimed to strengthen the ties between the Council members based on a common history, language, and cultural heritage on the one hand, and to conduct joint studies, visits, and training activities, develop projects, and share information and experience in order to understand and resolve today's competition law issues, and thereby spread the culture of competition in our region.

TO BE ON THE AGENDA AT THE SUMMIT ON NOVEMBER 3

The issue is expected to be on the agenda at the 10th Summit of the OTS Council of Heads of State, which is planned to be held in Astana, Kazakhstan, on November 3, 2023, and the decision regarding the establishment of a council by the competition authorities of the member states to cooperate and develop joint projects is expected to be included in the final declaration.
