Turkish citizens break record in overseas real estate purchases
The trend of Turkish investors purchasing real estate abroad has gained remarkable momentum over the last five years. As of November 2025, investments have reached a record level, exceeding 2.6 billion dollars.
According to the latest financial data published by the Central Bank, there has been a significant increase in the purchase of residential properties and land abroad by residents of Turkey.
While these investments totaled 216 million dollars in 2021 and rose to 673 million dollars in 2023, the primary surge occurred in 2024 and 2025. By the end of this period, in November 2025, this figure reached 2 billion 657 million dollars, marking a historic record.
Capital mobility accelerated particularly in 2024 and 2025, and a marked increase in demand for the overseas real estate market was recorded. Thus, a 12-fold growth was achieved in the total of the last five years.
According to graphical data, a stable upward curve was observed without any decline in the interim periods. Investments, which grew gradually between 2021 and 2023, gained momentum in the following two years and followed a serious upward trend.
