TurkStat announces 2024 gross national product

According to data released by TurkStat, non-financial corporations accounted for 59.4% of the value-added created in the Turkish economy, holding the largest share. These companies were followed by households at 23.9%, general government at 13%, and financial corporations at 3.7%.

In 2024, Turkey's gross national product (GNP) increased by 64.3% compared to the previous year, reaching 44 trillion 44 billion 657 million 144 thousand liras. This increase highlights the economy's growth rate and potential.

SAVINGS RATES AND DEBT STATUS

Last year, the ratio of total gross savings to GNP was calculated at 30.1%. The savings rate for non-financial corporations was determined to be 18.9%, households at 6.9%, financial corporations at 2.7%, and general government at 1.5%. The household savings rate was recorded at 11.3%.

When examining the net debt position of the economy, the total economy remained in a net borrowing position in 2024, although this ratio showed a decline compared to 2023.
