Vice President Yılmaz: Civil servant salary increase will be close to 50 percent

Vice President Yılmaz reiterated the salary increase rates for civil servants and retirees.

Vice President Yılmaz repeated that the salary increase rate for civil servants will be close to 50 percent, including the inflation difference and the collective bargaining agreement. Furthermore, giving signals for improvements in retiree pensions, he emphasized that significant steps in this regard will be taken in the second half of the year. Yılmaz stated, "The civil servant salary increase will be at a level close to 50 percent, with the inflation difference and the 15-point increase resulting from the collective bargaining agreement. SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees will also receive an increase based on inflation. However, this group will see a more significant increase in their monthly payments in the second half of the year."

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, in an interview with the Sabah newspaper where he made statements regarding civil servant and retiree salaries, noted that the civil servant salary increase would be at a level close to 50 percent if the 65 percent inflation rate projected in the Medium-Term Program (OVP) is realized.

He also said that they would take special measures for lower-income groups and that an increase would be made for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees due to the impact of inflation. Yılmaz expressed that they would continue to support low-income citizens, taking into account the situation of those with the lowest pension payments.

He emphasized the importance of lowering expectations in the fight against inflation and predicted that inflation would decrease significantly starting from mid-2024.
