Weekly balance sheet at Borsa Istanbul: Here are the stocks that gained and lost

The war agenda in the Middle East and the complex outlook in global markets also made their impact felt at Borsa Istanbul last week. As conflicts between the US-Israel and Iran continue, economic effects are being closely monitored in financial circles. During a period where a ceasefire continues but tensions remain high in the Strait of Hormuz, moves by central banks were also closely followed by the markets.

Looking at it on a weekly basis, although the BIST 100 index has been progressing with an increase of approximately 28% since the beginning of the year, it experienced a 1.23% loss in value as a result of transactions between April 20-24. The index started the week at 14,462 points and closed at the 14,409-point level. While the lowest point seen during the week was 14,212 points, the highest value reached by the index was 14,616 points.

The banking index fell by 5.23% last week, while a 2.05% decline was recorded in holding stocks and a 0.71% decline in the industrial sector.

STOCKS OF THE WEEK

Among the companies traded on the BIST 100, the stock that gained the most value was Efor Yatırım (EFOR), which finished the week with a 42.63% increase. While Katılım Evim (KTLEV) took second place with a 23.53% gain, Destek Faktoring (DSTKF) achieved third place with a 15.66% premium.

In the ranking of stocks that lost the most value, Gülermak Ağır Sanayi (GLRMK) took the first place with a 22.09% decline. Kontrolmatik (KONTR) and Fenerbahçe (FENER) followed in the list, experiencing declines of 19.74% and 12.46%, respectively.

Looking at it on the basis of market value, the company with the highest value at Borsa Istanbul was recorded as Aselsan (ASELS) with 1 trillion 787 billion 520 million TL. Destek Finans Faktoring (DSTKF) took second place with a market value of 877 billion TL, and Enka İnşaat (ENKAI) took third place with 639 billion TL.

Among the stocks that stood out in terms of trading volume throughout the week, Türk Hava Yolları (THYAO) took the top spot with 46 billion 298 million TL. Sasa Polyester (SASA) and Astor Enerji (ASTOR) were ranked among the most traded stocks of the week with trading volumes of 40 billion 198 million TL and 29 billion 672 million TL, respectively.
