Which investment instrument was the top performer this week?
While stocks traded on Borsa Istanbul lost an average of 0.93 percent, the euro/TL rate fell by 0.77 percent, and the dollar/TL rate dropped by 0.10 percent on a weekly basis, the gram price of gold increased by 2.29 percent.
The BIST 100 index, after seeing a low of 8,680.72 and a high of 9,070.02 points, closed the week at 8,793.61 points, losing 0.93 percent compared to the previous week's close.
The gram selling price of 24-karat bullion gold traded at the Grand Bazaar increased by 2.29 percent this week to 2,991 liras, while the selling price of Republic gold rose by 1.35 percent to 20,280 liras.
The selling price of quarter gold, which was 5,020 liras at the end of last week, increased by 1.37 percent to 5,089 liras.
This week, the US dollar lost 0.10 percent in value to 34.2490 liras, while the euro fell by 0.77 percent to 37.2260 liras.
Investment funds gained 0.42 percent and pension funds gained 0.77 percent this week.
When viewed by category, the top-performing investment funds were "precious metals" funds with a gain of 3.20 percent.
