The Central Bank has lowered the policy rate from 47.5 percent to 45 percent. With this decision by the CBRT, changes in deposit and loan interest rates are also coming into play.

WILL DEPOSIT INTEREST RATES FALL?

Experts predict that with the interest rate cut, the 50 percent interest rate era will come to an end. It is stated that if the policy rate is pulled to the 45 percent level, deposit interest rates of 50 percent and above will remain quite high.

WILL LOAN INTEREST RATES FALL?

Following the CBRT's interest rate decision, expectations for cuts in personal, housing, and auto loans have emerged.

According to economists, it is estimated that personal loan interest rates could fall to the 3.5 percent level, while housing loan interest rates could approach 2.5 percent.

However, analysts do not foresee any changes in credit restrictions. It is stated that the issue of loosening credit limits could be brought to the agenda in the second half of the year.

HOW MUCH INTEREST IS BEING PAID ON DEPOSITS?

The highest deposit interest rate, which was at the 53 percent level at the beginning of the week, has declined to 51 percent as of today.

In the coming days, these rates are expected to fall into the 47-48 percent range.

For long-term deposits, interest rates currently continue to remain stable at around 38 percent.

WHAT IS THE RETURN ON 1 MILLION LIRA?

The return on 1 million lira for a 32-day term at a 50 percent interest rate is calculated as 39,452 lira. When the interest rate is 48 percent, it is seen that this return falls to 37,874 lira.
