World-famous fashion retailer decides to close 15 stores

Leading Labels, which has a long-standing history in textile retail in the United Kingdom, has officially initiated liquidation proceedings as a result of financial difficulties. A new liquidation process is being carried out under the leadership of Jeremy Bleazard, who was appointed to the management of the company—which has been bringing numerous international brands to consumers since 1993—on May 26.

It is planned that existing stocks in all of the company's 15 remaining stores currently operating in England and Scotland will be sold at significant discounts. Once the stocks are depleted, all branches will close permanently.

Signals that the company had been going through difficult times financially for a while were also reflected in official records. Industry officials report that the summary accounts, which the UK Companies House had set for November 30, 2025, were not submitted despite the deadline passing, and that the financial situation had deteriorated. Furthermore, an official announcement published on March 10 warned that if no solution was presented, the company would be liquidated and removed from the register within two months. Various changes also took place in the company's management during this period.

Prior to the liquidation decision, Leading Labels had already begun closing many of its stores. While the company's branches in Lincolnshire and Bolton ceased operations in previous periods, commercial area representatives stated that the closures were linked to problems within the company's internal structure. In April, the windows of the two-story flagship store in Ipswich were covered with liquidation process announcements. It was learned that the closing schedule and related reasons were not communicated to employees in advance.

The 15 stores planned for closure are located in different regions of England and Scotland. These include Basildon, Boston, Bury, Carlisle, Cleethorpes, Clowne, Evesham, Hornsea, Ipswich, Kidderminster, Lincoln, Norwich, and Stevenage, as well as Balloch and Cumbernauld in Scotland.
