Yeni Şafak columnist Dinç: 'Minimum wage is disruptive to the labor market'

Yeni Şafak columnist Yusuf Dinç wrote in his column today, "In economic theory, the minimum wage is disruptive to the labor market. As you know, theory does not favor market intervention, and setting a minimum wage is an intervention in the market. By the way, you only intervene in the market if you intervene in the price. Ultimately, wages are a civil matter and should be determined between the employer and the employee. In fact, it should never be a topic for election campaigns." 

Dinç used the following expressions: 

"What is funny is that opportunists are mostly those with the lowest wage expenses. Because they do not like to share, they do not create employment and keep piling more work onto their few employees.

If the minimum wage were abolished, at least these people would be reined in. Each sector and region would set its own standards. Otherwise, the issue of over 1 million open positions in the manufacturing sector will become a burden for Turkey. In any case, the minimum wage no longer protects the employee, but the employer."
