Starbucks issues statement following attack

Starbucks has published a written statement on its official website regarding the public claim that 'they support Israel.'

The statement, titled "A Statement from Starbucks Corporation," reads as follows:

"It is not true that Starbucks or Howard Schultz provides financial support to Israel. Rumors that Starbucks or Howard provide financial support to the Israeli government and/or the Israeli Army are absolutely false. Starbucks is a publicly traded company and therefore must disclose any corporate donations made each year through a proxy statement.

Starbucks has not sent any portion of its revenue to the Israeli government or the Israeli army. We decided to end our partnership in 2003 due to the operational challenges we faced in the Israeli market. We reached this amicable decision after months of discussions with our partners."

'SEAT OCCUPATION' PROTEST HELD

Meanwhile, AKP Youth Branch President and İzmir Deputy Eyüp Kadir İnan stated in a social media post, "As the AK Party Youth Branch (AK GENÇLİK), we are carrying out a 'seat occupation protest' by sitting in Starbucks branches across all 81 provinces and all our districts for half an hour wearing our Palestinian scarves."
