Istanbul Provincial Director of National Education Murat Mücahit Yentür announced that 5,500 additional cleaning staff have started working in schools across the city. Istanbul Provincial Director of National Education Murat Mücahit Yentür announced that 5,500 additional cleaning staff who will work in schools across the city have started their duties.
In his statement, Yentür said that minor problems were experienced in the first week of school and that enough cleaning staff could not be found in Istanbul initially under the İŞKUR Labor Force Harmony Program (İUP).

Stating that the Ministry of National Education has launched a study on the matter, Yentür said, "As a result of our Ministry's initiatives, 5,500 full-time cleaning staff positions were once again allocated to Istanbul under the Community Benefit Program (TYP). We have 13,000 positions from the Labor Force Harmony Program and 5,500 from the TYP. Additionally, we have 1,595 permanent staff members in our Istanbul."
Yentür noted that 6 cleaning staff members at the Şehit Yunus Emre Ezer Primary School in Fatih are working in 2 shifts of 3 days each under the Labor Force Harmony Program.

Emphasizing that the hygiene and cleanliness of educational environments are among the top priority issues, Yentür stated, "We are currently not experiencing any problems regarding the cleanliness and hygiene of our classrooms, schools, and gardens in our Istanbul. We have assigned our cleaning staff to all our positions. We are providing an educational environment that is clean, sparkling, and hygienic for our children every morning and during breaks, paying attention to hygiene."
"NO MUNICIPALITY HAS APPLIED FOR FULL-TIME AND FULL-YEAR SERVICE"
Stating that they also carry out information and training activities for cleaning staff regarding hygiene, healthy communication, and school rules, Yentür expressed that with their efforts, they offer environments where toilets, classrooms, and gardens are spotless and where everyone can feel at ease while children are being educated.

Stating that no municipality has applied to them for cleaning services throughout the entire academic year, Yentür said, "At this point, there is no application from any municipality to our Provincial Directorate of National Education for a full-time and full-year practice. There is such a perception in the public. In the province of Istanbul, there is no official application from either the metropolitan municipality or any district municipality regarding the full-time, full-year cleaning of schools."
