Arda Turan meets with youth at The British School İstanbul

The British School İstanbul brought together one of the most prominent figures in Turkish football, Arda Turan, with its students as part of its "BIS Talks" event series. The former national football player and current manager of Eyüpspor shared his life story, turning points in his football career, and his achievements with the students.

Answering students' questions throughout the event, Arda Turan touched upon unforgettable details from his career.

Describing his time at Atletico Madrid by saying, "I can say that I see myself as an Atletico Madrid legend; we achieved every kind of success," Turan stated that the most difficult match of his career was the national match he played against Norway.

Stating, "The most important goal of my career was the one I scored against Switzerland," Turan shared that his idol is Lionel Messi, but the player he admires the most is Andres Iniesta.

Touching on his time at Galatasaray, Turan expressed his appreciation for his former teammate with the words, "We were very compatible when playing on the left wing together with Hakan Balta."

Students added color to the event with their questions regarding the match Eyüpspor will play against Galatasaray this weekend.

At the end of the event, Nazım Ünsal Abuşoğlu, Deputy Chairman of the Board of The British School İstanbul, was invited to the stage. In his speech at the event, Abuşoğlu explained the mission of The British School İstanbul: "The goal of our school is to raise happy world citizens who have a strong language foundation, know and respect international cultures, are versatile, intellectual, and academically equipped. Following his speech, Abuşoğlu thanked Arda Turan for his participation and presented him with the school's plaque.
