Diyanet's spending continues at full speed: It has left many universities behind

The Presidency of Religious Affairs has created a remarkable difference with its budget determined for 2025. The 421 million TL budget allocated for the Presidency has surpassed the educational investments of 116 out of Turkey's 127 universities. 

This budget also exceeded the total educational allocations of universities such as Ankara University, Middle East Technical University (METU), and Yıldız Technical University. 

85 MILLION TL ALLOCATED FOR NEW PROJECTS 

The allocation set aside for the Presidency of Religious Affairs for 2025 will be used particularly in the fields of vocational and technical education. Of the total allocation, 336 million TL has been set aside for ongoing projects, while 85 million TL has been allocated for new projects.

According to reports in BirGün, this budget represents a figure higher than the educational investments of some major universities.

For example, while an allocation of 400 million TL was set aside for Ankara University and 400 million TL for Yıldız Technical University this year, Kocaeli University faced a budget of 82 million 998 thousand TL, and Çukurova University faced a budget of 225 million TL.
