Education suspended in 2 provinces due to snowfall
Due to intensifying snowfall and the risk of icing in Eastern Anatolia, schools have been closed for one day across Ağrı and in four districts of Van. Disabled and pregnant personnel working in public institutions, as well as mothers with children aged 0-6, will be granted administrative leave.
Adverse weather conditions have negatively impacted daily life in Eastern Anatolia. In Ağrı, education has been suspended for one day in village schools and schools under the bussed education system across the province due to heavy snowfall.
In Van, educational activities have been halted today in the Çaldıran, Muradiye, Özalp, and Saray districts due to snowfall and adverse weather conditions.
In accordance with the decision, disabled and pregnant personnel working in public institutions, as well as mothers with children aged 0-6, will be considered on administrative leave.
The Governor's Offices have warned citizens to be cautious against the danger of icing that has increased with the snowfall.
