Summer holiday adjustment from the Ministry of National Education: Schools may close earlier than planned

The Ministry of National Education (MEB) is preparing to implement a comprehensive adjustment regarding the summer holiday for students ahead of the Eid al-Adha holiday, which will begin on June 6.

While it is not yet known how many days the holiday, expected to begin on June 6 this year, will last, the fact that schools would normally end on June 20 is expected to cause grievances for many families.

Seeking to prevent the economic costs that would arise from parents visiting their hometowns with their children during the holiday and then returning to school for only one week of education, the MEB is preparing to move the summer holiday forward this year.

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT EXPECTED IN MAY

According to reports from behind the scenes, Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin has given instructions to create a schedule regarding the regulation in question and to accelerate the curriculum.

It is planned for schools to conclude as of the week of June 2-6, ahead of the Eid al-Adha holiday starting on June 6, 2025. The 'social activities week,' which is normally implemented in the final week of the academic term, will be skipped this year due to the tight schedule.
