Massive hike in KYK dormitory fees

Before the start of the new academic year, Credit and Dormitories Institution (KYK) dormitory fees have been updated. According to Haber Global, the Ministry of Youth and Sports announced the new fee schedule as dormitory applications opened.

40 PERCENT INCREASE

According to the announced schedule, there has been an average increase of 40 percent in KYK dormitory fees compared to last year. Pricing has been determined based on six different room types according to student preference.

CURRENT PRICE LIST

According to the new schedule, prices by room type are as follows:

First type room: 750 TL

Second type room: 850 TL

Third type room: 850 TL

Fourth type room: 1050 TL

Fifth type room: 1150 TL

Sixth type room: 1250 TL

Last year's prices were 517.50 TL, 607.50 TL, 607.50 TL, 720 TL, 765 TL, and 855 TL, respectively.

DORMITORY CAPACITY AND APPLICATION PROCESS

The primary reason for the price differences was cited as the variations in the physical conditions of older and newer dormitories. In the majority of the dormitories, rooms are arranged for at least three people. While there is a bed capacity of approximately 1 million across Turkey, it was announced that dormitory applications can be made until September 6.
