The top 100 universities have been announced: 4 universities from Turkey made the list

International higher education rating agency Times Higher Education (THE) has announced the 2026 Asia Best Universities Rankings. 

In the list, where 929 universities from 36 countries were evaluated, 4 universities from Turkey entered the top 100. 

TURKISH UNIVERSITIES THAT ENTERED THE TOP 100

According to Times Higher Education data, four universities from Turkey managed to make their names among Asia's 100 most prestigious institutions. Koç University ranked 73rd, while Middle East Technical University (METU) ranked 78th. Sabancı University ranked 82nd, while Istanbul Technical University (ITU) rose to 97th place. 

TURKEY IS 3RD IN ASIA

While it was stated that 109 Turkish universities were included in the ranking, Turkey's higher education power in Asia has also increased remarkably. Turkey became the 3rd country with the most universities in Asia. 

29 TURKISH UNIVERSITIES IN THE TOP 500

Turkish universities were not limited to just the top 100; 7 Turkish universities managed to enter the top 200, 14 universities the top 300, and 29 universities the top 500. Boğaziçi University ranked 102nd, while Bilkent University ranked 137th and Yıldız Technical University ranked 171st. These institutions once again proved how strong Turkish universities are in the top 200 band. Additionally, Hacettepe, Istanbul Medipol, Kadir Has, and Özyeğin universities found their place in the 201-250 bracket.
