CHP's Günaydın recounts: What did that judge say to Soylu on election night?

CHP Group Deputy Chair and Istanbul MP Gökhan Günaydın stated that on election night in Gaziosmanpaşa, former Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu asked a female judge at the district election board, "Why didn't you stand up when you saw me?" to which the judge replied, "Because I am a judge."

CHP's Günaydın recounts: What did that judge say to Soylu on election night?

Tele 1 live broadcast, when asked about his social media post from the night of March 31 from Istanbul's Gaziosmanpaşa district, where the vote margin was narrow, which read, "04:00 AM, Gaziosmanpaşa District Election Board.. We will neither take what is not ours, nor let anyone take what is ours!", CHP's Gökhan Günaydın said, "This photo is so meaningful; there are 39 districts in Istanbul, we distributed all our MPs and our non-MP Party Assembly members to all the districts, but it wasn't enough. We have friends who served as MPs in the past; in the last party congress, some supported 'A' and some supported 'B', I called them all individually and there wasn't a single person who refused me.".

"IF THE VOTES INSIDE THE BAGS ARE CHANGED..."

Stating that the CHP was ahead by a margin of 1000 votes, Günaydın said the following:

"Who was in Gaziosmanpaşa? Namık Tan. He was our Ambassador to Washington. I said to Mr. Namık, 'Would you go to Gaziosmanpaşa?', and he said, 'Of course, I would go with pleasure.' Why did we feel the need to go there? It was 04:00 AM, we had won Gaziosmanpaşa by a margin of 1000 votes, the AKP was objecting, and the ballot boxes were being recounted. The bags you see here, some are still arriving at the hall, and some are being set aside for the recount. We must both supervise these and prevent dirty hands from reaching into those bags and changing the votes. We have obtained the wet-signed minutes for all of them, scanned them all, and transferred them to a digital environment. No one can pull any tricks there anymore. Only one thing remains. If they change the votes inside those bags through objections, these results could be changed in the minutes created by the objection. Therefore, I have to prevent this."

"SÜLEYMAN SOYLU HAD GONE THERE 1 HOUR BEFORE US"

Stating that AKP Istanbul MP and former Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu also came to the Gaziosmanpaşa District Election Board and met with the judge on the board, Günaydın said:

"Moreover, the former Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu had gone there 1 hour before us. I criticized the instrumentalized judiciary, the judge, and the prosecutor a moment ago, and I thank a friend of ours there. I don't know her. A female judge. Süleyman Soylu enters her office. The judge says, 'Please, come in.' He says to the judge, 'Why didn't you stand up when you saw me?' The female judge says, 'Because I am a judge.' I didn't congratulate her because I thought it would be misunderstood if I went to congratulate her. What the judge did is very important. The Republic still has such judges."

"LET THEM TRY TO STEAL IT NOW"

Expressing that they went to Gaziosmanpaşa after learning that Soylu was at the election board, Gökhan Günaydın said, "We were at the provincial headquarters, when we heard that, we said let's go to Gaziosmanpaşa immediately with Provincial Chair Özgür Çelik. When we saw the pressure there, our MP Ali Gökçek was in Pendik. I said, 'I request you to move to Gaziosmanpaşa.' When we reached there, our 3 MPs were standing there like a wall. 2 more MPs and 1 provincial chair joined them, let them try to steal it now," he said.
