AKOM issues warning with specific dates: Temperatures to drop in Istanbul, heavy rain expected

In Istanbul, temperatures are expected to hover around 27 to 29 degrees this week, with the days remaining mostly sunny and clear. Istanbulites planning for the weekend should pay particular attention to Saturday and Sunday, as thunderstorms are expected in the city on these days.

Starting the day at 22 degrees on Monday morning, temperatures in Istanbul will rise to 29 degrees by midday. Temperatures, which drop to 21 degrees in the evening and 18 degrees at night, will not cause oppressive weather during the day. Humidity is expected to be between 45 and 80 percent, while the northeasterly wind (Poyraz) is expected to occasionally reach moderate to strong levels (10-35 km/h). It is stated that the sea water temperature is 21 degrees.

It is estimated that northerly winds (Poyraz) will be effective throughout the week and will prevent the air from warming up too much, especially during the midday hours. It was stated that with the cooling effect of the northeasterly wind, temperatures will drop during the night and morning hours. In this regard, authorities advise citizens to be cautious due to the coolness in the morning and evening hours.

The weather forecast for the coming days is as follows:

• June 9, Tuesday: Partly cloudy, no precipitation expected. Temperatures will be between 18 and 27 degrees.
• June 10, Wednesday: Mostly clear and sunny, no rain. Low of 17, high of 28 degrees.
• June 11, Thursday: Again clear and sunny, no rain expected. Temperatures 17–29 degrees.
• June 12, Friday: Mostly clear weather, no precipitation forecast. Temperatures will hover between 18–28 degrees.
• June 13, Saturday: Thunderstorms will affect Istanbul. Temperatures will be between 18 and 25 degrees, and it is stated that 3-10 kilograms of precipitation per square meter may fall.
• June 14, Sunday: Partly cloudy and occasionally rainy. Lowest temperature 17, highest 24 degrees; precipitation amount will vary between 1-4 kilograms per square meter.
