Attention Istanbul residents! Critical warning issued by AKOM
The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) has warned citizens against potential icing and frost events tonight and tomorrow morning.
A warning for icing and frost has been issued for Istanbul by the Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM).
In a statement released by AKOM, which is affiliated with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), it was noted that the precipitation currently affecting Istanbul is expected to leave the region starting from the evening hours.
According to meteorological forecasts, temperatures are expected to hover between 0-3 degrees Celsius tonight and on the morning of Thursday, February 13, with the statement noting that temperatures are projected to rise and reach seasonal norms starting from the afternoon.
The statement urged citizens to be cautious against icing and frost on roads, squares, and overpasses tonight and tomorrow morning, adding that İBB teams will continue their salting operations.
