Dense fog blankets Istanbul, Bosphorus closed

Dense fog, which increased in intensity during the early morning hours in Istanbul, has negatively affected life across the city. Visibility dropped to just a few meters in some areas, particularly around the Bosphorus and Üsküdar.

The layer of fog, which was effective along the Bosphorus line as well as in higher elevations, largely obscured the city skyline. Due to the fog, the 15 July Martyrs Bridge became completely invisible at times.

VISIBILITY DROPPED IN ROAD TRANSPORT

The fog, which made its presence felt in Üsküdar and surrounding routes, caused difficult moments for drivers. Vehicles traveling on Bosna Boulevard were forced to drive with their hazard lights on due to low visibility.

MARITIME TRANSPORT SERVICES CONTINUED

Despite the dense fog, there were no cancellations in urban maritime transport. It was reported that ferry and City Lines services continued as scheduled.

BOSPHORUS CLOSED TO VESSEL TRAFFIC

On the other hand, the fog affected international maritime transport. Coastal Safety authorities announced that vessel traffic in the Bosphorus has been temporarily suspended due to limited visibility.

FOG SCENERY CAPTURED FROM HILLS

The dense layer of fog covering the Bosphorus also drew attention with images recorded from Çamlıca Hill. It was reported that the fog affecting the city is expected to dissipate in the coming hours.
