The General Directorate of Meteorology has published its weather report. According to evaluations made by expert meteorologists, the weather across the country today will be partly to very cloudy in places.

It is estimated that the western part of Marmara, the Aegean coast, the Eastern Mediterranean, the inland parts of the Eastern Black Sea, Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia, the surroundings of Istanbul, Kocaeli, Yalova, Bursa, Manisa, Kırıkkale, Yozgat, Sivas, Tokat, Giresun, and Rize, as well as the southern parts of Ankara, will experience showers and occasional thunderstorms, while the higher elevations of eastern Eastern Anatolia will see rain mixed with snow.

WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE TODAY?

Air temperatures are expected to decrease by 2 to 6 degrees in the western and southeastern parts, with no significant changes expected elsewhere. The wind is expected to blow from the north and northeast at light to occasionally moderate strength.

HEAVY RAINFALL WARNING

Since the precipitation is expected to be locally heavy in the surroundings of Tunceli, Elazığ, Bingöl, Batman, Muş, Bitlis, Siirt, Şırnak, Ağrı, and Hakkari, as well as the northeast of Diyarbakır, the east of Mardin, and the south of Van, caution and precautions should be taken against negative conditions such as flash floods, flooding, lightning, local hail, landslides due to snowmelt on steep and sloping hillsides, and disruptions in transportation.

AVALANCHE DANGER AND SNOWMELT WARNING

Caution and precautions should be taken due to the danger of avalanches, snowmelt, and landslide risks on sloping hillsides with high snow cover in the inland parts of the Eastern Black Sea and the north and east of Eastern Anatolia.
