Yellow alert for 42 cities from Meteorology: Temperatures to drop by 6 degrees, heavy downpours on the way

According to the latest assessments made by the General Directorate of Meteorology: The country is expected to be partly to very cloudy, with intermittent precipitation expected in all regions except for the northern parts of İzmir. Precipitation is generally expected to be in the form of rain and downpours, locally thundery downpours in Southeastern Anatolia, and a mix of sleet and snow in the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea, the north and east of Eastern Anatolia, and starting from noon in the inner parts of the Western Black Sea, and in the east of Central Anatolia during the night hours. Precipitation is expected to be locally heavy in the southeast of Eastern Anatolia (except Van), the east of Southeastern Anatolia, the western parts of Antalya, the surroundings of Osmaniye and Hatay, and starting from the evening hours in the surroundings of Tunceli, Bingöl, Ağrı, the southern parts of Erzurum, and the surroundings of Elazığ. There is a risk of icing and frost in the inner and eastern parts, as well as a danger of avalanches and snowmelt in sloping areas with high snow cover in the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea and Eastern Anatolia.

Air temperatures are expected to decrease by 4 to 6 degrees in the southern and western parts, with no significant changes expected elsewhere.

The wind is expected to blow from the south and southwest, and from the north in Marmara and over time in the western parts, generally light to occasionally moderate, and strong (40-60 km/h) in the east of Eastern Anatolia during the morning and night hours.
