Yellow code warning from Meteorology for 16 provinces

According to the latest assessments made by the General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM), the country is expected to be partly to very cloudy overall, with local showers and thunderstorms expected in the east of the Marmara region, the inland parts of the Aegean and Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, the Western Black Sea, the inland parts of the Central and Eastern Black Sea, the north and west of Eastern Anatolia, and the surroundings of Muş and Van.

The precipitation is expected to be locally heavy in the afternoon and evening hours in the inland parts of the Western and Central Black Sea, the surroundings of Eskişehir, Çankırı, Yozgat, Erzurum, Kars, and Ardahan, as well as the northern and western districts of Ankara.

AIR TEMPERATURE

No significant change is expected. Air temperatures are expected to remain 2 to 5 degrees above seasonal norms across the country.

WIND

The wind is expected to blow generally from the north, and from the south along the Mediterranean coast, in Southeastern Anatolia, and in the east of Eastern Anatolia, at light to occasionally moderate strength. It is expected to blow strongly (40-60 km/h) from the north in the southwest of the Marmara region and along the North Aegean coast.

WARNINGS

HEAVY PRECIPITATION WARNING

Since the precipitation is expected to be locally heavy in the afternoon and evening hours in the inland parts of the Western and Central Black Sea, the surroundings of Eskişehir, Çankırı, Yozgat, Erzurum, Kars, and Ardahan, as well as the northern and western districts of Ankara, caution and vigilance should be exercised against potential negative consequences.

STRONG WIND WARNING

Since the wind is expected to blow strongly (40-60 km/h) from the north in the southwest of the Marmara region and along the North Aegean coast, caution and vigilance should be exercised against potential negative consequences.

The provinces under a yellow code warning are as follows:

Artvin, Çankırı, Çorum, Erzurum, Giresun, Kars, Kastamonu, Ordu, Sinop, Sivas, Tokat, Yozgat, Bayburt, Bartın, Ardahan, and Karabük.
