Meteorology issues warning: Temperatures to drop, heavy downpours expected

According to the latest assessments made by the General Directorate of Meteorology, the country is expected to be partly to very cloudy, with intermittent showers and thunderstorms expected across the country, except for the coasts of Sinop and Kastamonu and the western part of Samsun. The rainfall is expected to be locally heavy in the interior parts of the North Aegean, the Eastern Mediterranean, Balıkesir, the northern and eastern parts of Central Anatolia, and the surroundings of Siirt and Şırnak; and very heavy, locally severe, in the surroundings of Osmaniye and Hatay, the northern and eastern parts of Adana, and the western part of Kahramanmaraş.

Air temperatures are expected to be 2 to 4 degrees below seasonal norms in the interior and eastern parts of the country, and around seasonal norms elsewhere.

The wind is expected to blow from the north in the western parts of our country and from the south in the eastern parts, light to occasionally moderate, and occasionally strong (40-60 km/h) in the west of Southeastern Anatolia after noon tomorrow.

A yellow-coded warning was issued for 5 cities in the Meteorology report.

MARMARA

It is expected to be partly to very cloudy, with intermittent showers and thunderstorms across the region. Rainfall is expected to be locally heavy in the surroundings of Balıkesir and Tekirdağ.
