Yellow alert for 16 provinces from Meteorology: Temperatures to drop by 7 degrees, strong storms and downpours are coming!
The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued a yellow alert for 16 provinces due to rainy weather expected to affect the country. While downpours and locally heavy rainfall are expected in many regions, storms in the interior and eastern parts, and risks of snow and avalanches in high-altitude areas are highlighted. Air temperatures are forecast to drop by 4 to 7 degrees in the interior and western parts, while they are expected to rise by 4 to 6 degrees in the Marmara region.
According to the latest assessments by the General Directorate of Meteorology: The country is expected to be partly to very cloudy, with precipitation forecast for the interior of the Aegean, Western Mediterranean, Central Anatolia (except Karaman), the interior of the Western Black Sea, the Central and Eastern Black Sea, the north of Eastern Anatolia, as well as the surroundings of Balıkesir, Bursa, Sakarya, Aydın, Muğla, Bilecik, Adana, Bingöl, Muş, Bitlis, and the western parts of Kahramanmaraş and Osmaniye. Precipitation is expected to be in the form of rain and downpours, with occasional thunderstorms, and as sleet and snow in the interior of the Western Black Sea, the northern parts of Ankara and Çankırı, the highlands of the Eastern Black Sea, and the north of Eastern Anatolia. Precipitation is expected to be locally heavy in the interior of the Aegean, Central and Eastern Black Sea, Bilecik, Isparta, the east of Burdur, the interior of Antalya, Eskişehir, Ankara, Çankırı, Kırıkkale, Yozgat, Sivas, and the south of Bursa. Winds are expected to blow strongly from southerly directions as storms (50-80 km/h) in the interior of the Mediterranean, the south and east of Central Anatolia, the interior of the Eastern Black Sea, Eastern Anatolia, and the northern parts of Southeastern Anatolia. There is a danger of avalanches and snowmelt in sloping areas with high snow cover in the interior of the Eastern Black Sea and Eastern Anatolia.
Air temperatures are expected to decrease by 4 to 7 degrees in the interior and western regions, increase by 4 to 6 degrees in Marmara, and remain largely unchanged elsewhere.
Winds are generally expected to be light to moderate from the south, and from the north in western parts, while blowing strongly as storms (50-80 km/h) from southerly directions in the interior of the Mediterranean, the south and east of Central Anatolia, the interior of the Eastern Black Sea, Eastern Anatolia, and the northern parts of Southeastern Anatolia.

MARMARA
It is expected to be partly to very cloudy, with downpours in the surroundings of Sakarya, Balıkesir, Bursa, and Bilecik. Precipitation is expected to be locally heavy in the surroundings of Bilecik and the southern parts of Bursa.
