Ministry issues warning for 10 cities with specific dates: Heavy snowfall and storms are coming

Weather conditions are increasingly having negative effects in the western and southern regions of Turkey. Following the latest data, an official warning has been issued for 10 provinces against the risk of rain, storms, and snowfall. In the information shared via social media, a risk map prepared with the assessments of the General Directorate of Meteorology was shared.

Today, severe downpours and locally thundery showers are expected across the provinces of İzmir, Manisa, Aydın, and Çanakkale; in the western parts of Balıkesir and the southern parts of Edirne. It is predicted that the precipitation will be even stronger in coastal districts.

Strong downpours that will increase in intensity from time to time will also be seen around Muğla. In addition, storms are expected along the Aegean coastline, accompanied by strong winds blowing from the south and southeast.

On the other hand, it is estimated that severe precipitation will continue until Friday night in the southern districts of Burdur and Isparta and in some parts of Antalya. In higher elevations, there is a possibility of heavy snowfall in addition to sleet.

Experts emphasized that citizens should be careful against floods, water inundation, disruptions in transportation, and the negative effects that storms may cause, which could put life and property safety at risk.
