'The coasts belong to the people,' but there is always an AKP member in charge
An AKP member has been appointed to lead the foundation that will operate 100 new beaches in Muğla under the Ministry of Environment's 'the coasts belong to the people' project.
The Muğla Tourism and Environmental Foundation (MUÇEV), a company whose name appears in many projects in coastal areas of Muğla, has renewed its management staff. According to a report by Aycan Karadağ from Birgün, Hacı Abdullah Uçan has become the company's new Chairman of the Board. Uçan replaced Erdal Türk. Türk was the General Manager of the Turkish Environmental Protection Foundation's Economic Enterprise and an AKP parliamentary candidate nominee for Karaman in 2018. Uçan, who is no different from Türk, was also an AKP mayoral candidate nominee for Sultanbeyli in 2019. Uçan also serves as the General Manager for the Protection of Natural Assets at the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. The new management list, which consists of familiar faces, is as follows:
• Hacı Abdullah Uçan, Ministry General Manager for the Protection of Natural Assets
• Mehmet Rıdvan Doğan, Ula District Governor
• Ayhan Yazgan, Deputy Governor of Muğla
• İsmail Tamer, AKP Headquarters Deputy Chairman of Local Governments and former Kayseri MP
• Hasan Bebek, President of the Turkish Environment Agency
• Zübeyir Dedeoğlu, Vice President of the Turkish Environment Agency
• Ahmet Sami Kulaklıoğlu, Head of the Ministry's Support Services Department
• Murat Oral, General Manager of Professional Services at the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization
• Bedri Sinan Gül, Ministry General Manager of Urban Transformation
• Volkan Mutlu Coşkun, General Manager of Meteorology
• İbrahim Yılmaz, Ministry General Manager of Personnel
• Ertan Yetim, Head of the Ministry's High Board of Science
EVERYWHERE REMINDS ME OF YOU
MUÇEV occupies bays and beaches that should be open to public use according to the Constitution and the Coastal Law. While the company plunders even forests and protected areas, it leases the regions allocated to them to third parties. This situation draws the reaction of citizens living especially in tourism regions. The local people are fighting against these practices of MUÇEV. Finally, MUÇEV also emerged behind the Ministry's 'The Seas Belong to the People' project. Within the scope of the project, the Ministry will open 100 new beaches and the operation of these beaches will be given to MUÇEV. In the face of MUÇEV's practices, citizens continue their struggle by arguing that beaches, bays, and forest areas should be open to public use.
