Thunderstorm warning from the Meteorological Service

The General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) has released its latest assessments, forecasting that the northeastern part of the country and eventually the western regions will be partly to very cloudy, while other areas will be mostly clear. Starting from the afternoon, intermittent showers and thunderstorms are expected in İzmir, Muğla, Aydın, Antalya, throughout the province of Çanakkale, and in the western parts of Balıkesir.

The precipitation is expected to be heavy in the western parts of İzmir and the coastal districts of Aydın starting from the night hours.

Localized mist and fog are expected in the interior and eastern regions during the morning and night hours.

AIR TEMPERATURE

Temperatures are expected to remain around seasonal norms across the country, while they are forecast to be below seasonal norms along the Aegean coast and in Central Anatolia.

WIND

The wind is generally expected to blow from southern directions, light to occasionally moderate, and strong during precipitation.

HEAVY RAIN WARNING

Since the precipitation is expected to be heavy in the western parts of İzmir and the coastal areas of Aydın starting from the night hours, caution and precautions should be taken against potential adverse conditions (such as flash floods, flooding, and disruptions in transportation).
