BREAKING NEWS... Alarming fire in Pendik, Istanbul: Flames approached residential areas
A fire that broke out in the Aydos Forest in Pendik, Istanbul, caused panic. While smoke from the fire could be seen from many surrounding neighborhoods, fire crews were quickly dispatched to the area.
A fire broke out for reasons yet to be determined in the Aydos Forest, located within the borders of Istanbul's Pendik district. After the fire was noticed around noon, local residents reported the situation to the authorities.
FIRE AND POLICE TEAMS DISPATCHED
Following the report of the fire, fire crews affiliated with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality were quickly directed to the region. Police teams also initiated operations in the fire zone as part of security measures. While interventions are ongoing, no official statement has been made yet regarding the cause of the fire.
SMOKE SEEN FROM FOUR NEIGHBORHOODS
A local social media account named Pendik TV reported that the fire could be clearly seen from the Ertuğrulgazi, Velibaba, Kurtköy, and Sülüntepe neighborhoods. The posts stated that thick smoke covered the sky and reached close to houses in some areas.
