The General Directorate of Meteorology has released the weather report for April 9. According to the new report, a yellow alert has been issued for 15 provinces during the Ramadan Feast. So, what will the weather be like across the country? Here are the details...
According to the latest assessments made by the General Directorate of Meteorology: It is estimated that the country will be partly to very cloudy in general, with showers and thunderstorms expected in the interior of the Western Mediterranean, the Eastern Mediterranean, the south and east of Central Anatolia, the interior of the Eastern Black Sea, Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia, and the surroundings of Tokat. Precipitation is expected to be intermittent and locally strong in the Eastern Mediterranean, Southeastern Anatolia, and in Bitlis, Muş, Şırnak, the south and east of Van, and Hakkari. Fog and mist are expected to occur in places in the south and east of Marmara and in the Western and Central Black Sea regions.
AIR TEMPERATURE
Temperatures are expected to increase in the interior and eastern parts, with no significant changes elsewhere, and are expected to remain around or slightly above seasonal norms across the country.
WIND
The wind is expected to blow generally from the north and northeast, and from southerly directions in the east of the country, light to occasionally moderate, and strong (40-60 km/h) in the southwest of Marmara and the Aegean coasts.
STRONG PRECIPITATION WARNING
Since intermittent and locally strong showers and thunderstorms are expected in the Eastern Mediterranean, Southeastern Anatolia, Bitlis, Muş, Şırnak, the south and east of Van, and Hakkari, one should be careful and cautious against negative conditions such as floods, water inundation, disruptions in transportation, lightning, hail, and strong winds during precipitation.
AVALANCHE DANGER AND SNOWMELT WARNING
Caution and vigilance are advised due to the risk of avalanches, snowmelt, and landslides on sloping terrain with high snow cover in the interior of the Eastern Black Sea and the north and east of Eastern Anatolia.
