5 kittens found in tied-up bag thrown in rubbish bin
Sanitation workers in the Tarsus district of Mersin noticed sounds coming from a rubbish container and rescued 5 kittens from a tied-up bag that had been thrown away.
The incident took place in the Tozkoparan neighborhood of the district.
According to the information received, teams from the Tarsus Municipality Cleaning Affairs Directorate noticed sounds coming from one of the containers while collecting trash.
Hearing the kittens' cries, the sanitation workers opened a tied-up bag they retrieved from the trash and found 5 kittens inside.
The kittens were removed from the bag to allow them to breathe, and the situation was reported to the municipality's veterinarians.
The Veterinary Directorate teams took the kittens and brought them to the Tarsus Municipality Animal Care and Rehabilitation Center.
The kittens were bottle-fed there and placed under treatment in the intensive care unit. It was learned that there are plans to put the kittens up for adoption once they have grown.
