Allegations of striking documents found at home and workplace of Ayşe Barım following arrest warrant: The 'Gezi' detail

Famous talent manager Ayşe Barım, who has recently been in the spotlight over allegations of monopolization in the television industry, was arrested following her detention as part of the investigation into the Gezi Park protests.

Ayşe Barım was sent to prison by the Criminal Court of Peace on charges of "aiding in the attempt to overthrow the Government of the Republic of Turkey or to prevent it from performing its duties."

OPERATION AT HOME AND WORKPLACE

Following Barım's detention, teams from the Istanbul Organized Crime Control Branch conducted searches at the manager's home and workplace.

During the searches, documents bearing the text "#occupygezi - solidariedade com o povo turco" (Gezi occupation - solidarity with the Turkish people) were seized. It was learned that these documents are being evaluated as evidence that could affect the course of the investigation.

ARREST WARRANT ISSUED

Barım, who had been held in custody since last Friday, was referred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan. After giving her statement to the prosecutor, Barım was brought before a judge on charges of "aiding in the attempt to overthrow the Government of the Republic of Turkey," and was subsequently arrested and sent to prison.

FAMOUS NAMES GAVE STATEMENTS AS WITNESSES

It was learned that many famous names from the television industry were called to give statements as "witnesses" as part of the investigation. It was stated that actors such as Halit Ergenç, Bergüzar Korel, Mehmet Günsür, Ceyda Düvenci, Nejat İşler, Rıza Kocaoğlu, and Nehir Erdoğan were among those whose statements were taken.

INVESTIGATION DEEPENS

This investigation, conducted within the scope of the Gezi Park protests, is considered one of the most notable operations involving famous figures. It was learned that in her defense, Ayşe Barım did not accept the charges against her and argued that the allegations directed at her were baseless.

WHAT IS AYŞE BARIM ACCUSED OF?

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office stated that Ayşe Barım had intensive communication regarding the events with Gezi trial defendants Osman Kavala, Çiğdem Mater Utku, and Memet Ali Alabora.

The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office alleged that Barım directed the actors she worked with toward the protests. The statement included the phrase, "It has been understood that she was one of the planners of the events."

An 8-hour search was conducted at the company of Barım, who faces charges of "Attempting to Overthrow the Government of the Republic of Turkey or Prevent it from Performing its Duties." Barım's statement to the prosecutor lasted 3 hours.
