Armed attack at a park in Eyüpsultan: 5 injured, 3 in critical condition

The incident occurred at a park on Veysel Karani Street in the Karadolap neighborhood of Eyüpsultan. According to the information obtained, individuals in a car that arrived in front of a patisserie on the street opened fire on people in the park for reasons yet unknown. B.S. (16), Kaan G. (18), Kerim D. (20), Mahmut Efe O. (19), and B.A. (15) were injured in the incident. Following the attack, the suspects fled the scene in the vehicle they arrived in.

Upon notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals by ambulances after receiving initial intervention from medical teams. It was learned that B.S., Kaan G., and B.A. are in life-threatening condition. While police teams took security measures on the street, crime scene investigation teams conducted an examination. Police teams found 24 empty shell casings at the scene. It was determined that bullets also struck vehicles parked on the street. The car used by the suspects was found burned at the entrance of the Kemerburgaz City Forest in Eyüpsultan. Police efforts to apprehend the suspects are ongoing.

Speaking about the incident, a citizen named Hamza Özer said, "There were 5 young people sitting in this park. These are two groups who know each other. I was a little further away when it happened and didn't hear the sounds, but I came afterward.", he said.

On the other hand, investigations revealed that the license plate used in the incident was fake, that the real vehicle belonging to the same plate was parked in a parking lot in Bağcılar, and that the vehicle owner had no knowledge of the incident.
