Banks are seeking solutions for credit cards! One bank will pay the contribution fee itself

Following the legislative proposal prepared by the AKP to collect 750 TL annually from citizens with credit card limits of 100,000 TL or more under the name of a defense industry contribution share, many citizens applied to their banks to lower their credit card limits, prompting Enpara to launch a new campaign.

According to this, if customers with a card limit of 100,000 TL or more have a monthly statement debt of at least 25,000 TL for 12 consecutive months, the 750 TL fee will be paid by Enpara at the end of the 12 months.

The “Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Certain Regulations Regarding the Defense Industry and Certain Other Laws,” which bears the signatures of AKP deputies, has been submitted to the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). One of the most notable articles of the proposal is the collection of a 750 TL annual defense industry fund contribution share from cardholders with a credit card limit of 100,000 TL or more.

If this regulation is implemented, cardholders with limits above 100,000 TL will be required to pay this fee. It is stated that the number of credit cards with a limit of 100,000 TL or more across Turkey is 61 million 955 thousand 106.

While the proposal was met with backlash from a large segment of the public, many people applied to their banks with requests to lower their card limits to 99,000 TL.

ENPARA WILL PAY THE FEE

Following these developments, Enpara launched a new campaign, stating that they would pay the new tax on behalf of their customers.

According to this, if customers with a card limit of 100,000 TL or more have a monthly statement debt of at least 25,000 TL for 12 consecutive months, the 750 TL fee will be paid by the bank at the end of the 12 months.
