Employees' socialization budget has decreased: Participation in cultural events is on the decline

According to the results of a survey on time off conducted by Eleman.net, 73 percent of employees have reduced their budget for socializing over the past year, while 53 percent have not attended any cultural events such as theater, concerts, or cinema in the last year.
Eleman.net, Turkey's leading employment platform for blue-collar and mid-level positions, has revealed data on employees' time off and vacation preferences based on a recent survey. In response to Eleman.net's question, "How many days off do you have per week at your job?", 55 percent of employees answered two days. To the same question, 43 percent of employees replied with one day, while 3 percent answered three or more days.
In response to the question "What do you do on your days off?" in the survey, 49 percent of participants answered "I spend time with my family," while 30 percent said "I rest/spend time at home." To the same question, 10 percent replied "I spend time with my friends," 6 percent said "I do sports or exercise," and 5 percent answered "I work a side job."
In response to the question from Eleman.net, "Has there been an economy-focused change in your social activities on your days off over the last year?", 73 percent of employees answered, "Yes, the budget I allocate for socializing has decreased." When asked about the primary factors playing a role in the change in participation in social activities, 53 percent of participants responded with "Increase in living expenses," 26 percent with "Increase in the cost of social activities," and 17 percent with "Desire to save money."
When asked the survey question, “How many times have you attended cultural events such as theater, concerts, or cinema in the last year?”, 53 percent of employees, the majority, answered “None.” The proportion of those who answered “5 or fewer” to the same question was 34 percent, while the proportion of those who said “5 or more” was 13 percent.
