Footage of the accident in which an AFAD personnel lost their life has emerged
Footage has emerged of the accident in the Çamlıhemşin district of Rize, where one AFAD personnel lost their life after their boat capsized while searching for a missing citizen.
According to the information obtained, search and rescue operations have been launched in the Fırtına Creek to find Volkan Civelekoğlu, who went missing in the Çamlıhemşin district.
Following the discovery of Civelekoğlu's personal belongings by the creek, a search operation was initiated in the Fırtına Creek. The lifeless body of the missing young man was found in the creek in the Şenyuva area of the district. During this time, the boat carrying AFAD teams capsized in the Fırtına Creek, causing 5 personnel to lose their balance and fall into the water. In the incident, 1 AFAD staff member lost their life, while 4 personnel were rescued with injuries.
While a large-scale investigation into the incident has been launched, the moment of the accident was recorded moment by moment on a mobile phone by a citizen who was in the area at the time.
