17-year-old youth shoots and kills the father of the girl he loved

The incident took place in the Vatan neighborhood of the central Yıldırım district. According to allegations, 17-year-old S.Ç., who was forced to break up with his fiancée by her father, became enraged. S.Ç. arrived by taxi at the street where his former fiancée's house is located, and upon seeing her father, Özgür Yelegen, he opened fire on Yelegen's body multiple times with the weapon he had brought with him.

Citizens who heard the gunshots reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the report, numerous police and ambulance teams were dispatched to the scene.

Özgür Yelegen, who was seriously injured in the incident, was taken to a private hospital by private vehicle. Despite all interventions made there, Yelegen could not be saved.

Police apprehended the suspect with the weapon used in the crime

Following the incident, the suspect S.Ç. fled. The Yıldırım Crime Prevention and Investigation (SÖS) teams apprehended the suspect in a short time with the weapon used in the crime. It was learned that the suspect said, "He broke off our engagement with the girl I love and gave her to someone else." The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
