81,355 TL fine for individual who chained a wolf
In the Muradiye district of Van, an administrative fine of 81,355 TL was imposed on an individual who put a collar on a wolf and chained it in front of their house.
The Environment, Nature, and Animal Protection Team serving under the Van Provincial Gendarmerie Command took action following footage shared on social media regarding the capture and chaining of a wolf.
The wolf, which was being kept chained in the Adaklı neighborhood of the Muradiye district, was rescued by the teams and handed over to the Erciş Chief Office of Nature Conservation and National Parks.
While the wolf is receiving treatment and care, legal proceedings were initiated against the individual who mistreated the animal for violating the Animal Protection Law No. 5199, and an administrative fine of 81,355 TL was imposed.
