Another piece of insider information about Kılıçdaroğlu... What did he say to the CHP Provincial Chair in that meeting? A signal of a comeback
While the possibility of "absolute nullity" is being debated in the CHP convention lawsuit, former Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's words, "So what? What harm is there in me coming back?" have stirred up the political corridors once again. Journalist İsmail Saymaz shared the details of the critical meeting.
As debates over "absolute nullity" remain heated ahead of the CHP convention lawsuit to be heard on June 30, rumors regarding former Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's potential return to the party are growing stronger. Details of a visit reported by HalkTV columnist İsmail Saymaz contain a signal of a possible comeback.
"SHOULD I LEAVE THE PARTY TO A TRUSTEE?" OUTBURST
The possibility of the CHP being handed over to a trustee in the event of an absolute nullity ruling is being discussed. In this context, it is alleged that Kılıçdaroğlu told his inner circle, "If I don't accept it, a trustee will be appointed. Should I leave the party to a trustee?"
İsmail Saymaz recounted the reaction Kılıçdaroğlu gave to a CHP provincial chair during a meeting on June 21 as follows:
"After the provincial chairs issued a statement of support for the headquarters, Ankara Provincial Chair Ümit Erkol requested an appointment with Kılıçdaroğlu and visited him.
During the meeting, Erkol proposed, 'Come together side-by-side with Mr. Özel and make a decision. Whatever happens, let us abide by this decision and overcome the crisis this way.'
After remaining silent for a long time, Kılıçdaroğlu replied to these words by saying, 'So what? What harm is there in me coming back? I am already the chairman of the party, what harm could I possibly do?'"
CRITICISM OF RALLIES ALSO CAME UP
According to Saymaz, Kılıçdaroğlu also expressed a negative opinion during the meeting regarding the Saraçhane rallies held for Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu. It was learned that Kılıçdaroğlu stated he did not "find these rallies appropriate."
