Are schools closed in Istanbul? (February 24, 2025)

Due to the snowfall in Istanbul, schools were closed on Thursday, February 20, and Friday, February 21. As the snow break combined with the weekend, children did not attend school for 4 days.

Now, children have turned their eyes to Monday. They are waiting with great excitement to see if schools will be closed on Monday.

Istanbul Governor Davut Gül had stated on Saturday, "If the weather is good, there is no need for a break. According to the Meteorology forecast, the weather will be nice on Monday."

There has been no change in the Meteorology forecasts. According to weather forecasts, Istanbul is expecting partly cloudy and cold weather on Monday. No snowfall is expected.

In a new statement made on Sunday night, the Istanbul Governor said, "Dear Students, we know you love hearing the news of a snow break! However, since weather conditions have returned to normal for tomorrow, education will continue in our schools as planned."

The road to school has appeared once again for the children on Monday morning.
